Maybe you’ve heard the rumor, and yes. It’s true. I’m moving to Los Angeles! Wait! Before you panic. It’s only temporary! But it’s a story. If you have a minute, we should chat.
A few months ago, I had the honor of cosigning a contract with a friend of mine to rent a theatre in Hollywood for a week to put up an original comedy play we wrote together. Since I was a kid, it had always been my dream to write and perform my very own show, but to get to do this with my best friend in Los Angeles, California is beyond what I could have imagined!
Next week I will be catching a one way ticket to Hollywood to prepare for said production, opening in four short weeks. Although our show closes on December 8th, I had a decision to make. Would I fly back to Portland and return to my rainy office, or stay in LA and create a temporary one where there’s more sunshine? I hope you can see why I chose the latter.
Because Winter is my slowest season for photoshoots, I made the decision to give myself an opportunity to play in a different market, meet with businesses, and try and expand my services to a city that I’ve called my vacation home all summer. What did I have to lose?
Wait, did I say ONE WAY? Yeah, so here’s the catch. I’m not entirely sure when I want to return. Maybe I’m crazy, but I think I’m going to feel this one out. My plan is to return mid January once the Holidays have past, but we will see what the airline tickets have to say ;) Basically, if you're in need of photo services from me between November-January, act fast or come down to the sunshine and pay me a visit!
So what can you expect from me while in LA? Pretty much the same as always! We’re on the same timezone, so you can still catch me on Facebook, Instagram, and in my inbox at all normal business hours. Want to schedule a consultation? Thank goodness for Skype! Seriously, the only thing that’s going to change is the amount of sunshine I’ll be getting.
I’m excited for this chapter in my life! I will be spending my 25th birthday there, with friends and family, ringing in a year of new adventures and bold choices. I hope you can be there every step of the way!
Happy Wednesday and Cheers to New Things!
