My Ideal Work Day

Have you ever sat down and thought about what your ideal day is? Maybe it takes place under an umbrella at a white sandy beach. Or near a waterfall on a breezy fall afternoon. I'm willing to bet most of us at one point in time or another have considered what our next quick getaway would be. But have you ever considered what an ideal day would look like at the office? No, maybe it doesn't have the same ring to it, but I've found it's incredibly important to put that same day-dreamy thought towards your ideal work day, as it is your ideal vacation.

Why? For a few reasons. One, productivity. You know exactly how much time you are willing to give yourself to work on a certain project, and how much time you allow yourself in your workday! This gives you the opportunity to put on those tunnel vision glasses and get the work done! Distraction-free. Second, you figure out what you really don't want to be working on any more and maybe start to consider finding someone who CAN do that task, and actually likes it! This again saves you time and makes your workday a little less of a drag. And the third reason is it helps you create a positive mentality around your worklife! You give yourself the permission to take days off and leave work at a strict 5pm. I don't know about you, but that is a MAJOR goal in running your own business.

So what does my ideal work day look like? It starts at 4am where I get mentally ready and prep my day, while my office work officially starts at 8am. I take a lunch break at 12-1pm and have a healthy salad or sandwich for lunch and a small sweet treat. I spend my office hours surrounded by other business owners at WeWork. I am working on photo editing, content planning, and blogging. I don’t want to have to worry about designing materials or editing videos to I delegate that to Jem. I am listening to instrumental music Spotify or watching a cheesy Hulu tv show. The highlight of my day was taking a coffee break to chat with my coworkers and be inspired by their hard work.

And there you have it! Who says that's not achievable! I'd love to hear your ideal day! Either pop a comment below or share a post on Instagram and tag me. Can't wait to read it!
