Where to begin my recap? 2018 was a wild ride. It brought me adventure, freedom, wisdom, and a lot of challenges. With every downhill brought a greater peaks after the climb. Each view unique and inspiring. So where to begin with a recap than at the beginning. And in lieu of a classic year in review (usually just photos and captions), I thought it’d be fun to go month by month and list out my favorite events and happenings by date.
I started a Mastermind/Accountability group with women in Portland. This was our first meeting!
I visited the Portland Art Museum for the first time and saw the Leica exhibit!
I booked an agent
I got a tattoo at Ritual Arts in (NE Portland) of a bull to symbolize the strength and perseverance I would use to navigate through life and business.
I photographed the BHLDN couple’s night at the downtown Portland Anthropologie
I joined Jasmine Star’s Social Curator team as a Facebook Page moderator. She’s a huge inspiration to me, so being around her projects was a dream come true.
I joined WeWork to encourage working outside my home office
Jem and I went ALL OVER Portland trying to find somewhere to watch the Oscars because we didn’t have cable. Ended up watching it at Bridgeport. We had to read the captions (which were slower than what was happening so it was hard to follow, ha!)
The Black Tux invited me to their private industry networking event!
Jem and I took a trip to Los Angeles for Jem’s spring break!
I upgraded to the desk life at WeWork
Zoe and I walked around downtown to capture some freakin’ awesome shots for her Instagram!
Jury duty! What I assumed would be a 1-2 day work week setback, turned into a two week commitment.
I got my first ever legitimate call back for a television show after my first audition with this casting agency. It was a huge win for me. I didn’t get the part, but having a call back (especially after only being in the office once) is something I’m proud of.
And back on a plane to Portland! This was a crazy intense trip or me physically.
Jem and I were invited to afternoon tea at Opal28 with a bunch of our favorite business friends!
We bought our tickets to Australia!
An incredible shoot with BHLDN and Sam Struck at the Leach Botanical Gardens
Returned to Lewis & Clark for a stunning engagement shoot with Staci + Elvis!
Keith proposed to Jenny!
Another trip to LA. This wouldn’t be the last!
My friend Carly and I decided that we would write and produce a show together that December. We toured the venue and got our budget down on paper!
Another branding shoot! I LOVED doing these. This was with Union Event Co.
Jem & I celebrated his birthday at our friend’s wedding celebration!
The Klasse camera I impulse bought on Ebay arrived! We got straight to shooting.
I worked on set with some amazingly talented actors and crew to produce one of the coolest short film concepts I’ve seen! (I can’t wait for this to premiere in 2019)
LA again! Carly and I took some promo photos for our show!
I got to photograph another branding session with Lane’ Jo Richards of Wedding Pro Coaching. She’s my idol! I loved working with her a second time that year.
We adopted Penelope
Penny took her first class at WonderPup!
Back to LA! (I didn’t realize how much I traveled here in 2018 until doing this review)
Penny’s first roadtrip! We went to Seattle to drop off Mr. Bones with my dad before our Aus trip.
I got my first tarot and birth chart reading. Very woowoo, but I’ve always wanted to do it! I’ll probably do it again in the New Year. Why not!
Back in PDX. First thing’s first: taking Penny to the park!
Scripts printed, the rehearsal process begins!
Carly and I mocked up a SNL-inspired video to open our show! This was one of our favorite things to make!
The poster and Marquee went up!
Carly and I met Jeff Goldblum at his jazz show. Words can’t describe how amazing it was.
I went to Disneyland with my mom, just because I could! This was a weird accomplishment of mine.
Jem flew down from Portland to spend Christmas with me!
These memories are courtesy of Day One and Google Photos! This isn’t even a sliver of what my year was like, but it was fun to read through my old journal entries and scroll through my Google Photos to see how the year went. I can’t believe how fast 2018 flew by. I can safely say I welcome 2019 with open arms.
